Senior Policy Program Manager
IMDb is the world's most popular source for movie, TV, and celebrity content, reaching an audience of more than 250 million unique visitors per month. We're looking for a Senior Policy Program Manager to join IMDb's Content Operations team and own the full lifecycle of content policy — from creation and versioning through to enforcement and machine-interpretability.
In this role, you'll be the dedicated owner of IMDb's policy framework, ensuring that our policies are clearly authored, properly versioned, consistently enforced, and structured for machine consumption by our automated moderation systems. You'll define and maintain the policy store and tag definitions that power IMDb's multi-layered moderation architecture. This role requires someone who can navigate ambiguity, drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Legal, PR, and Operations, and deliver measurable improvements to policy coverage and enforcement accuracy at scale.
The most successful candidate will think strategically about how policy decisions impact hundreds of millions of users, while diving deep into the technical details of how policies are codified and interpreted by automated systems.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end policy creation, versioning, publication, and deprecation across IMDb's content ecosystem, managing the full lifecycle from identification of need through stakeholder sign-off to implementation.
- Design and maintain the policy store authoring framework and tags that enables policies to be machine-readable and enforceable by automated moderation systems.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, Legal, PR, Risk Management, and Operations to ensure policies are comprehensive, compliant, and implementable.
- Define program strategy for policy governance, including prioritization frameworks, SLA tracking, and metrics to measure policy effectiveness and enforcement accuracy.
- Present policy risks, recommendations, and program updates to Directors and VPs, building consensus across discordant views and securing resources for policy initiatives.
- Identify and drive process improvements to streamline policy workflows, reduce time-to-enforcement, and eliminate redundant or conflicting policies across the organization.
- Identify new trends in the entertainment industry and develop new policies to support them.
- Mentor and develop team members, actively contributing to hiring and raising the bar on policy program management practices

A day in the life
You'll start your day reviewing policy effectiveness metrics and enforcement signals, identifying where gaps or inconsistencies exist between policy intent and automated enforcement. You might spend the morning drafting a new policy in response to an emerging content challenge, working through the stakeholder review process with Legal and PR. In the afternoon, you could be partnering with Engineering to refine how a policy is codified for machine interpretation, ensuring the tag definitions and rule configurations accurately reflect the policy's intent. You'll regularly present to senior leadership on policy program health, upcoming changes, and strategic direction.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining and executing program requirements
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience managing teams
- Experience delivering cross functional projects

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with content moderation systems, automated enforcement, or machine-interpretable policy frameworks.
- Experience with policy versioning, taxonomy design, or tag-based classification systems.
- Experience in the entertainment, media, or user-generated content industry.
- Experience applying Agile, Lean, or similar methodologies to program management.
- PMP or equivalent program management certification.
