From assessments and health services to employability programmes and specialist support, we do work that matters with people who care.

Benefits:

  • Salary is £75,000 - £98,875
  • 25 days holidays + bank holidays
  • 9% combined pension contribution
  • Healthcare cashplan
  • Retail discounts

About the role:

This is a rare opportunity to lead Maximus UK's growth in the asylum and immigration market. As Immigration Account Director, you will shape and lead our market strategy, strengthen our position with the Home Office and sector partners, and turn our capabilities into a compelling, sustainable growth platform. Working closely with executive leaders and senior stakeholders, you will have the mandate to define where we play, how we win and the partnerships we need to succeed. This is a visible, influential role for someone who wants to shape a nationally significant market and leave a lasting strategic legacy.

We are looking for an ambitious senior leader with deep experience of asylum and immigration, the Home Office, justice, government, and the wider public sector. You will bring the credibility, commercial judgement and energy to build trusted relationships, mobilise colleagues around a clear market ambition and convert strategy into action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the organisation's asylum and immigration go-to-market strategy, aligned with corporate priorities, setting the market ambition, growth objectives and route to a qualified pipeline in partnership with Growth and senior stakeholders.
  • Be the organisation's senior Home Office and immigration market lead, identifying and articulating where Maximus can add distinctive value to the Home Office's challenges, including workforce, health, skills, assessment services, digital support and transition services. Lead the shaping of priority opportunities, value propositions and win strategies.
  • Track asylum and immigration policy, reform and spending priorities, translating insight into clear strategic choices, compelling market messaging, targeted campaigns and practical growth assets.
  • Act as the internal subject matter lead on asylum and immigration policy and stakeholder dynamics, advising senior leadership and Growth teams. Lead the development of position papers, briefings, consultation responses and thought leadership that strengthen our credibility and market voice.
  • Build and maintain trusted senior relationships across the Home Office, relevant agencies, existing providers, membership bodies and key policy influencers. Represent the organisation at priority forums, events and roundtables to increase our visibility and influence.
  • Identify and activate strategic partners, including established providers and specialist organisations, to enable joint go-to-market activity and improve access to Home Office and wider asylum and immigration opportunities.
  • Build Maximus UK's presence in the asylum and immigration market and deliver measurable growth outcomes, including a credible pipeline, stronger strategic partnerships, opportunity conversion and increased sector visibility.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
