Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced UK Inbound Immigration Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of UK immigration laws, policies, and Home Office procedures, with a strong track record of successfully assisting individuals and businesses with visa applications, work visas, sponsorship licenses, and settlement applications. This role requires exceptional client management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex immigration cases efficiently.

About the role

Independently manage UK and/or Global immigration matters with minimal supervision, including complex and non-standard cases, provide high quality technical and commercial advice, and build trusted client relationships.

Core Responsibilities

Case Ownership and Technical Advisory

  • Manage an independent caseload, including complex UK immigration cases and advisory matters.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the ability to research and apply immigration rules and guidance.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and commercially focused immigration advice aligned with client objectives.
  • Act as the first point of contact for complex scenarios and escalations, managing issues proactively and involving managers at the appropriate stage.
  • Draft structured advisory communications, ensuring appropriate internal review and approvals for advice, scope changes, and fees.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships through regular and proactive communication.
  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients, understanding client businesses and immigration needs.

Billing and Financial Management

  • Take responsibility for billing on assigned matters and accounts.
  • Maintain accurate billing trackers, monitor own WIP, and provide regular updates to account managers.
  • Raise invoices in line with agreed scope, fees, and engagement terms, escalating issues where required.
  • Address billing queries professionally and promptly.

Risk Management

  • Follow self‑review and manager review processes for all work to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and quality across all immigration matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards (including IAA requirements), and risk procedures, ensuring all emails are reviewed by the Account Manager before being sent.
  • Proactively identify and escalate risks and issues at an early stage, demonstrating appropriate judgement and research when engaging with the Account Manager.

Team Contribution

  • Support junior team members through informal coaching and knowledge sharing.
  • Actively monitor immigration developments, identify when information should be shared with clients, and proactively engage with the Account Manager to support the drafting and delivery of updates/newsletters.
  • Contribute to process improvements, best practice initiatives, and operational projects.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and ownership in all areas of work.

Professional Development

  • Actively contribute to raising the profile of the immigration team and wider GES/Tax service lines.
  • Attend relevant industry or professional events (e.g. ILPA meetings) share updates with the team.
  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge and growing commercial awareness, acting as a positive ambassador for the firm.

What we are looking for

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years' corporate immigration experience.
  • Strong UK immigration technical knowledge.
  • Experience managing client relationships independently.
  • Billing/WIP management experience.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
  • IAA accreditation (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred:

  • 5+ years' immigration experience.
  • Global immigration coordination experience.
  • IAA Level 2 accreditation.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
