Immigration Coordinator
Role Purpose
The Immigration Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all visa processes are clearly defined and completed, enabling Field Engineers to mobilise to projects on time. The role will ensure that the required number of valid visas is maintained in line with agreed KPIs, supporting both planned and unplanned work. The Immigration Coordinator will act as the subject matter expert for migration and visa matters within Field Service, making decisions and recommending appropriate courses of action to support the global mobilisation of manpower in line with customer requirements. The role requires close collaboration with Resource Planners, Project Managers, regional teams, and international embassies to ensure an efficient and cost-effective level of support is provided to the business. The successful candidate will be required to understand complex immigration and migration matters and determine the most appropriate visas required to support business activities, while protecting Siemens Energy's reputation and the wellbeing of Field Service Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and update IGT visa application instructions and information held within the visa database following changes to immigration law or internal processes.
- Define IGT visa strategy based on short, medium and long-term business forecasts, ensuring sufficient Field Service Engineers meet the immigration requirements to work within the relevant territories.
- Facilitate the resolution of visa and immigration queries for LCN & FSP PS DO Field Staff, ensuring delegates are appropriately supported.
- Support visa database administration, including reviewing available reports, identifying and feeding back issues to Manpower Planners and Administrators, and assisting with the review and cleansing of data.
- Provide visa and immigration support during IGT manpower planning meetings.
- Maintain KPI data relating to valid visas for contingency and manned jobs, along with associated visa applications.
- Carry out best-practice sharing activities to build visa and immigration knowledge across relevant teams and improve support for delegates.
- Gather and verify country-specific immigration and visa information obtained from GMS, Consulates, and PwC Legal.
- Support the ongoing relationship with PwC Legal and Global Shared Services.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

- Substantial knowledge and experience of visa, international delegation processes, and immigration requirements.
- Degree-level education or equivalent.
- Knowledge and understanding of Field Service Engineer skill requirements.
- Knowledge of Primavera Web tools, SAP, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Office.
- A number of years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience working within a large corporate organisation operating a Global Field Service department or with global mobilisation requirements.
- Awareness of global immigration matters and issues associated with working abroad.
- Project coordination experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience of working with different cultures, with an open-minded and respectful approach.
- Additional language skills in French, Spanish, or Portuguese would be beneficial but are not essential.
