Black Antelope Law is seeking a motivated and organised Immigration Paralegal to join its busy immigration and public law team.

The successful candidate will support solicitors with a varied caseload involving asylum, human rights, family migration, private life, further submissions, appeals and judicial review matters.

Due to the communication needs of our client base, the ability to communicate confidently in Bengali and/or Sylheti is strongly preferred. Candidates must also have excellent written and spoken English.

Key responsibilities

The role will include:

• Assisting solicitors with immigration, asylum and human rights matters.
• Taking detailed instructions from clients and preparing accurate attendance notes.
• Communicating with Bengali and Sylheti-speaking clients and helping them understand legal processes and evidence requirements.
• Drafting correspondence, witness statements, representations, chronologies and document checklists under supervision.
• Completing immigration application forms and assisting with online submissions.
• Preparing and organising Home Office and Tribunal bundles.
• Reviewing evidence and identifying any missing or further documents required.
• Liaising with the Home Office, HM Courts and Tribunals Service, counsel, interpreters, experts and other third parties.
• Maintaining accurate case records, deadlines and electronic files.
• Assisting with asylum interviews, appeal preparation, further submissions and pre-action protocol matters.
• Providing clients with regular and professional case updates.
• Carrying out legal and country-background research where required.
• Complying with confidentiality, data protection, professional conduct and regulatory requirements.
