City Legal Solicitors is an SRA-regulated firm based in Harrow, specialising in UK corporate immigration. We have been established for over 12 years, run a fully digital practice, and act for entrepreneurs, SMEs and international businesses across a wide range of sectors.
We are looking for a Senior Paralegal
This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You will hold your own caseload of Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, Global Talent and sponsor licence matters, and act as the day-to-day point of contact for the corporate clients you look after. You will work under the supervision of our supervising solicitor, who will be closely involved in complex and contentious matters, but we are looking for someone who does not need to be shown how a sponsor licence application works.
What you will be doing
- Running your own caseload of business immigration matters end to end - Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, Global Talent, sponsor licence applications and business visitor routes - from taking instructions through to submission and outcome.
- Advising sponsor clients on compliance: HR and document-keeping systems, right to work checks, reporting duties, and preparing them for Home Office audits.
- Handling sponsor licence compliance issues, including acting as an account manager for our corporate clients.
- Supporting a smaller volume of personal immigration work - spouse visas, settlement (ILR), British nationality and visitor applications.
- Drafting the documents that carry the file: attendance and instruction notes, client care letters, advice letters and representations to the Home Office.
- Keeping on top of changes to the Immigration Rules and sponsor guidance, and sharing what matters with the team and our clients.

What we are looking for
- At least three years' UK immigration experience, with a substantial proportion of it in business immigration.
- Genuine working knowledge of the Skilled Worker route and the sponsor licence regime - the SMS, sponsor duties, and the sponsor guidance.
- Experience of sponsor licence compliance work: mock or Home Office audits, and ideally suspensions or revocations.
- Confidence running a caseload independently and being a client's main point of contact.
- Competence across the common personal immigration routes.
- Excellent written English and genuine attention to detail — a large part of this role is drafting.

Practical details
