The CTM School Nurse Service

The CTM School Nurse Service is seeking a motivated, autonomous, and resilient Band 5 Immunisation Nurse to join the team. This term-time post is 30 hours over 5 days. The role supports the delivery of school-aged immunisations in Merthyr Cynon while contributing to a one-team approach across the health board. The current base is Keir Hardie Health Park, though this may change.

The post holder will work confidently within a skill mix team and respond to the needs of a developing service. Immunisation delivery will take place in schools and community settings, aligned to the Welsh Government school-age immunisation schedule and Healthy Child Wales Programme 2. During periods of low immunisation activity, Band 5 nurses will support the broader public health role of the School Nursing Service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard of evidence-based care in the delivery of childhood vaccinations in school and community settings.
  • Develop and maintain good communication and relationships with partners, for example, Cwm Taf Morgannwg-wide schools and primary care.
  • Undertake training programmes for immunisation schedules which include storage and administration of vaccines and gaining consent.
  • Promote the National Immunisation Programme and take all opportunities to increase uptake and advise parents about the immunisation schedule.
  • Attend relevant immunisation meetings to report on immunisation issues.
  • Support with the delivery of the wider public health role of the school nursing service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
