Why You'll Love This Role: Implementation Consultant – Pensions Development
This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced pensions professional to join Civica's Pensions team, helping deliver and enhance solutions that support some of the UK's leading pension schemes.
Working closely with clients, consultants, developers and project teams, you'll play a key role in developing and maintaining pension calculations, supporting software implementations and ensuring our solutions remain aligned with current legislation and regulatory requirements.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Defined Benefit (DB) pensions knowledge who enjoys translating complex pension scheme rules into practical, high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pension calculations within the Civica pensions software framework
- Analyse scheme rules, technical documentation and legislation to implement calculation changes and enhancements
- Create and maintain unit tests and comprehensive test scenarios
- Act as a subject matter expert on customer projects and software implementations
- Work within an Agile Scrum environment to deliver agreed project outcomes
- Attend customer, project and technical meetings to gather and understand requirements
- Support product testing and quality assurance activities as part of the development lifecycle
- Produce technical documentation, user guides and supporting materials for new functionality
- Provide support to customers using existing applications in line with agreed service levels
- Contribute to the future design and development of the Civica pensions software suite
- Share knowledge and best practice with colleagues across the team

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of UK Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes and benefit calculations
- Up-to-date understanding of UK pensions legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience reviewing and interpreting Trust Deeds, Rules and other technical pensions documentation
- SQL Server development experience
- Ability to produce detailed calculation specifications and testing scenarios
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage workload effectively and deliver to deadlines
- Experience working directly with customers and stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of UK Public Sector Pension schemes
- Experience of CARE and Defined Contribution (DC) arrangements
- Development experience using Java, C++ or C#
- Experience working with Azure DevOps
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
