Implementation Manager - Cross-Border Payments

Location: London (City), hybrid, 3 days a week in the office

Salary: £80,000–£85,000 + private medical and dental

Type: Permanent, full-time

Own the journey from deal signed to first live transaction at one of the world's largest cross-border payments infrastructure providers.

The company

Our client is a global embedded financial infrastructure platform, founded in 2015. It serves more than 750,000 businesses, processes over $300bn in annualised transaction volume, and holds 82 licences and authorisations across 200+ markets.

Fintechs, marketplaces, SaaS platforms and global enterprises use its portal and APIs for collections, payouts, FX, multi-currency accounts, card issuing and acquiring. Its Europe & Americas business is scaling fast: the UK and European BD team has just doubled, and the operations team is growing to match.

The role

This is a newly created, permanent role in the London team, reporting directly to the Chief of Staff. You'll own every new B2B customer's go-live: from the moment a deal is won, through onboarding, risk approval and set-up, to their first successful live transaction.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Every day a customer isn't live is a day without revenue, so you'll be the person who keeps them moving. You'll pull together Risk, Compliance, Solutions, Product and FI teams across London, Luxembourg, Singapore, the US and China. You'll also help build the playbooks and processes that let the team scale.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the pre-live journey end to end: onboarding, KYC/KYB document collection, product and channel configuration, and account readiness
  • Run several customer go-lives at once, prioritising well and keeping each on track to its launch date
  • Be the customer's main point of contact and escalation owner during onboarding, setting clear expectations
  • Work with Fraud, Risk and Compliance to get customers approved, and with FI, Product and Integration teams to remove blockers early
  • Triage first-transaction issues and see them through to resolution
  • Partner with BD and Solutions before contracts are signed, flagging onboarding complexity and configuration risk
  • Turn recurring friction into playbooks, checklists and automation
  • Track and report time-to-live, stage conversion and bottlenecks

API integration is delivered by a dedicated team. You'll manage it alongside them rather than build it.

What you'll bring

  • Around 5+ years in implementation, onboarding or customer delivery, with recent experience in cross-border payments (essential)
  • A role that combined client-facing work with hands-on operational or back-office work, such as system configuration, payment investigations or account set-up
  • A track record of delivering several concurrent onboardings to deadline
  • Working knowledge of KYC/KYB and AML in a payments onboarding context
  • Confidence in technical conversations about APIs, configuration and payment flows
  • Experience with B2B or corporate customers
  • Comfort with ambiguity, and the drive to fix the process as well as the problem

Nice to have: Experience at a scale-up; familiarity with CRM and customer success tooling.
