Implementation Project Manager
London: Onsite
Our client is a fast-growing FinTech developing infrastructure that helps established banks and financial institutions launch and manage new digital financial products.
Its API-led platform integrates with existing banking systems, allowing clients to introduce more flexible and personalized services without undertaking a complete replacement of their core technology.
The business already works with major regulated financial institutions across several international markets and is investing significantly in its client delivery and engineering capabilities.
About the role
The company is building a dedicated Project Implementation function and is hiring 2 Project Implementation Managers to own the post-sale technical delivery journey.
You will take responsibility from contract signature through technical integration, testing, go-live, and transition into BAU support.
This is not a traditional project coordination position. You will be the technically credible face of the company’s delivery function, working directly with architects, integration engineers, technology leaders, and operational stakeholders within major financial institutions.
You will be expected to understand the substance of technical discussions, identify risks, challenge delivery plans constructively, and translate client requirements into clear actions for internal Product and Engineering teams.
As an early member of the function, you will also help create the processes, governance, templates, and implementation playbooks needed to support future growth.
Key responsibilities
Client implementation and delivery
- Own the end-to-end delivery of multiple client implementations, including kick-off, discovery, integration, UAT, go-live, and handover into BAU.
- Act as the main point of contact for client technology and operational stakeholders.
- Translate complex client requirements into clear internal deliverables, dependencies, and priorities.
- Build trusted relationships with client architects, engineering teams, technology leads, and operational stakeholders.
- Manage difficult conversations, challenge unrealistic expectations, and find pragmatic routes through delivery obstacles.
- Support pre-sales activity where required, including implementation scoping, technical questions, and delivery estimates.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- A strong track record of delivering technology programmes for large financial institutions or other highly regulated enterprise clients.
- The ability to work credibly with senior architects, integration engineers, Product Owners, and Engineering leaders.
- Strong understanding of API-led integrations and concepts such as REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, data flows, and event-driven architectures.

- Practical familiarity with at least one major cloud environment, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- An understanding of containerized services, cloud-native infrastructure, and production release dependencies.
- Experience managing multiple complex client implementations or programmes simultaneously.
- Strong governance and programme-management discipline, including RAID management, status reporting, scope control, and senior stakeholder escalation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate technical detail into clear business language and vice versa.
- Evidence of partnering with Product and Engineering teams to shape requirements and delivery decisions, rather than simply passing messages between teams.
- Practical use of AI tools to improve delivery activities, documentation, reporting, analysis, or communication.
- Comfort operating in a growing business where processes and tools are still being developed.
