Implementation Support; Oracle - Remote
12-Month Fixed Term Contract
£40,000 - £60,000 (Depending on Experience)
Most payroll professionals spend their careers delivering payroll. Opportunities to help build, design and implement a new payroll system don't come along very often.
I'm working with an organisation that is in the middle of a major Oracle Cloud Payroll and HR implementation and they're looking for a payroll professional to join the project team and act as the payroll expert throughout the journey.
If you enjoy the technical side of payroll, love solving problems, and have ever found yourself questioning why a process works the way it does, this could be a genuinely interesting opportunity.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the new system is configured, tested and implemented successfully, working closely with stakeholders across the business and helping shape how payroll will operate in the future.
What You'll Be Involved In
- Supporting the implementation of Oracle Cloud Payroll and HR
- Participating in workshops and process-mapping sessions
- Payroll testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Reviewing and improving payroll processes
- Supporting data migration activities
- Working with project teams, system specialists and stakeholders
- Acting as the payroll subject matter expert throughout the implementation

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Who They're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong payroll experience and a thorough understanding of payroll operations
- Experience using Oracle Payroll systems
- An analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Confidence working with stakeholders across different teams
- Previous implementation or transformation experience would be highly advantageous
However, don't rule yourself out if you've worked extensively with Oracle Payroll but haven't led an implementation before. The organisation would also consider someone with strong Oracle payroll knowledge who can support the implementation lead and bring valuable hands-on system expertise to the project.
What's On Offer?
- Up to £60,000 for candidates with significant Oracle implementation experience.
- Around £40,000 for payroll professionals with strong Oracle Payroll expertise who are looking to gain broader implementation and project exposure.

Why Consider It?
This is initially a 12-month fixed-term contract, but it sits within a live strategic programme and there is potential for the project to extend or create further opportunities within the organisation.
For someone looking to move beyond day-to-day payroll processing and gain experience in systems, change, transformation or implementation work, it's an excellent opportunity to broaden their skill set while remaining firmly within the payroll profession.
