The Import Clerk is a full-time, on-site role based at Elite Universal’s office in Felixstowe. This role involves coordinating and processing import shipments, preparing and checking documentation, and ensuring compliance with customs and international trade regulations. The Import Clerk will liaise with customers, shipping lines, airlines, and other partners to track shipments, resolve queries, and provide timely updates. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Data entry into internal systems
- Maintaining accurate records
- Managing import schedules
- Supporting the wider operations team to ensure smooth, efficient cargo movement
- Assisting with problem-solving on delayed or problematic shipments
- Contributing to continuous improvement in import processes

Qualifications
- Knowledge of international trade and import procedures.
- Experience or familiarity with customs processes and regulations, including Customs Brokerage.
- Strong Communication skills for working with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation, data entry, and shipment records.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., MS Office) and logistics or freight management systems is beneficial.
- Previous experience in freight forwarding, supply chain, or logistics operations is an advantage.
