We are currently recruiting for an Import and Export Compliance Supervisor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Import & Export Compliance Supervisor is responsible for the Import and Export regulatory compliance. The position supports STERIS’ import and export activities through monitoring and maintaining the STERIS Compliance Program. The position ensures that STERIS international shipments are handled in an efficient manner while meeting all international Customs and UK / EU government export and import laws. They will also Submit/prepare binding tariff ruling requests to various products as required. Respond to all Customs and related Government agency inquiries.

Duties

  • Submit/prepare binding tariff ruling requests to various products as required to support accurate import classification of STERIS products.
  • Training Provider and new user setup for the STERIS Global Trade Management Program Integration Point.
  • Develop metrics relating to Customs compliance and related activities to identify and evaluate STERIS’ compliance readiness.
  • Manage the performance of the various Customs brokers STERIS currently works with. Be responsible for making changes as required.
  • Provide assistance to all STERIS Internal/External Customers as it relates to resolving issues relating to Customs or export regulation issues to or from a STERIS location or STERIS supplier/vendor facility.
  • Become a resource to internal and external Customers as it relates to import and export compliance, as well as promote Customs Compliance within STERIS Corporation, its supplier, and Customers.
  • Be a mentor to your staff. Lead, support and assist in the growth of your support staff.
  • Manage the international solicitation process. Work to obtain country of origin, free trade agreements, and classification from STERIS suppliers.
  • Participate and Sponsor Kaizen events to facilitate process improvement both internally and cross functionally with upstream groups.
  • Work with various stakeholders within the Company to address and resolve compliance related issues. Review and approve Customs broker and carrier invoices.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in Customs Brokerage
  • A minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience
  • Fast paced constant changing environment
  • Faces challenging times / conditions head on
  • Attention to detail.
