Job Description Summary
As an Import & Export Logistics Specialist at GE Aerospace, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across international borders, supporting our global operations.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute all aspects of import and export operations, including customs declarations, trade compliance, and documentation for air, sea, and road freight.
- Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies, including EAR, ITAR, and other applicable export control regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and import/export licenses.
- Track and monitor shipments, proactively identifying and resolving potential delays or issues.
- Conduct regular audits of import/export activities and documentation to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and legal teams to optimize logistics processes and minimize risks.
- Stay informed of changes in international trade regulations and communicate their impact to relevant departments.
- Utilize and maintain various logistics and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Participate in special projects related to supply chain optimization and global trade compliance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in import and export logistics, preferably within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping procedures (e.g., Incoterms).
- Proven experience with customs documentation and declarations.
- Familiarity with export control regulations such as EAR and ITAR is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
