Purpose of Role

As a Freight Forwarder – Import Freight Operator at Jenkar Shipping Ltd, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of cargo through various modes of transport, ensuring you deliver high levels of customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing bookings, liaising with clients and carriers, and ensuring the smooth execution of shipping operations.

Key Duties

  • Oversee, receive, and process booking requests from clients, agents, and internal teams.
  • Coordinate with carriers, shipping lines, and overseas agents to secure cargo bookings, with accurate delivery.
  • Assist with basic quoting and collaborate with your Line Manager or the internal sales team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of bookings, including bills of lading and shipping instructions.
  • Communicate with clients to provide booking confirmations and updates on shipment status.
  • Visit customers when required, accompanied by your Line Manager.
  • Monitor and track shipments (air and sea) to ensure on-time departures/arrivals and provide POD’s when/where necessary.
  • Handle any booking-related issues, including changes, cancellations, or delays, in a proactive and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as customs, sales (internal and external) to resolve any booking-related challenges.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and trends to provide informed booking/documentation solutions.
  • Work as part of a Team and assist colleagues where appropriate.
