Import Merchandiser – Fashion
Location: Manchester

The Opportunity
We are working with a leading fashion supplier based in Manchester who are looking to strengthen their merchandising team with an experienced Import Merchandiser.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded merchandiser to join a fast-paced fashion business, working closely with suppliers, customers and internal teams to ensure products are delivered on time, to specification and at the right cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end import merchandising process from order placement through to delivery.
- Work closely with overseas suppliers to manage orders, production and delivery schedules.
- Monitor critical paths and proactively identify and resolve any delays or issues.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, quantities, lead times and production updates.
- Work closely with internal teams including buying, design, product development and quality.
- Monitor and maintain accurate order and product information.
- Ensure products meet agreed quality, cost and delivery requirements.
- Track shipments and coordinate with relevant logistics teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep everyone updated.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Identify potential risks and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Support the wider merchandising team with reporting, analysis and administration.

About You
We are looking for someone with experience within fashion import merchandising with solid experience managing orders and supplier relationships, who can take ownership of their workload and confidently manage the critical path from order through to delivery.
You will ideally have:
- Experience working within fashion, apparel or a related product environment.
- Strong understanding of the import merchandising process.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Confident communication and negotiation skills.
- The ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines simultaneously.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
