Improvement Advisor Opportunity at NHS Forth Valley Quality
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Improvement Advisor to join NHS Forth Valley Quality, supporting a range of high-profile transformational programmes and projects across the organisation.
About the Role
In this pivotal role, you will work in partnership with NHS Forth Valley and Health and Social Care Partnerships, with a primary focus on Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership, to deliver key organisational priorities. Your work will centre on transformation that adds measurable value to the services we provide, ensuring positive outcomes for the people who access our care.
A key aspect of this role involves engaging with wider stakeholders to support transformational improvement programmes and projects across acute, community, and primary care settings. You will work flexibly across the quality portfolio, with significant opportunity to influence and lead transformation programmes that improve experiences, outcomes, and safety for service users. Additionally, you will play a key role in building capability and capacity for quality improvement by applying the Forth Valley approach to QI, alongside teaching and coaching QI skills to colleagues across the system.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with wider stakeholders to support transformational improvement programmes and projects.
- Work flexibly across the quality portfolio.
- Influence and lead transformation programmes that improve experiences, outcomes, and safety for service users.
- Build capability and capacity for quality improvement.
- Apply the Forth Valley approach to QI and coach colleagues.
- Coaching frontline, multidisciplinary teams in improvement work.

Requirements
- Educated to degree level.
- Hold a lead-level quality improvement qualification or demonstrate progress towards this.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in delivering training and applying the Model for Improvement to lead quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience of working across health and social care, ideally within integrated or partnership settings.
- Proven track record in innovation, service improvement, and change management within large, complex organisations.
- Ability to work across locations in NHS Forth Valley, with a strong focus on Falkirk HSCP.
- Evidence of improvement expertise and programme management experience.
- Ability to produce high-quality reports and communicate progress effectively.
- Strong creative thinking and innovation skills, particularly within multi-agency and whole-system transformational contexts.
Other Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery.
- Complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.
- Achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.
- Comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
