The Information & Engagement Team is a small team consisting of three officers. We are now looking for a fourth addition to strengthen the team’s resilience across functions. This fourth team member will address the limitations of the existing three-person structure, and the need for business continuity while attracting a high-calibre candidate who’ll deliver immediate value.
The team has two distinct areas:
- Improvement/Engagement: Consultations, Equalities monitoring and reporting, Policy Development, Youth Council
- Information Governance: Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulation and UK GDPR/Data Protection
The purpose of this role is to support and strengthen resilience across functions where necessary by providing flexible, high-quality operational and strategic support across Consultations, Engagement initiatives, corporate Equality provision, supporting Policy Development, Youth Council, Corporate Training and supporting Information Governance tasks (when applicable).
The successful candidate will report to the team’s Information & Engagement Manager and provide support in the delivery of complex, high profile corporate projects.

Duties will include:
- Providing internal advice and guidance
- Facilitating the Internal Satisfaction programme
- Designing questionnaires from start to finish
- Qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Producing comprehensive, insightful reports/infographics
- Providing cover when team members are on annual leave
The post-holder will manage the Council’s Citizens’ Panel, Equality Panel and Youth Council and work with other departments/colleagues to promote and support effective community engagement and consultation work.
To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrable ability to process and present complex information in an accurate format to a range of different audiences from the general public to internal officers to Elected Members
- Proven experience of working in consultation/engagement in Local Government or similar
- Proven experience of working within the parameters of the Equalities Act 2010 (includes reviewing Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs))
- Proven experience of using software to undertake survey design, and statistical analysis (ideally Snap Software)
- Proven knowledge of working as part of an Information Governance framework (preferably Local Government)
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication to engage with officers, members and external bodies
- Excellent IT skills (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web applications)
- A strong, confident customer focus and a commitment to service improvements through engagement and the wider work of the team.
