Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 38 hours

Kinetic Recruitment are currently looking for 2 x Improver / Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Assemblers to join an established manufacturing team within a modern engineering workshop in North Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with sheet metal fabrication or assembly experience who are looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career within engineering. The successful candidates will work with a range of materials and sheet metal components, including ducting, cabinets and bespoke fabrications, using modern machinery and equipment.

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Cutting sheet metal to size using saws, lasers, plasma cutters and guillotines
- Bending, folding, rolling and pressing sheet metal into the required shapes
- Building and assembling fabricated components
- General sheet metal assembly and fabrication
- Working with a range of material thicknesses, from thin-gauge stainless steel through to heavy-gauge mild steel
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Using a variety of hand tools, machinery and fabrication equipment
- Maintaining a safe, clean and efficient working environment
- Working both independently and as part of an established engineering team
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with sheet metal
- Experience in fabrication, assembly, ducting, cabinets or bespoke metalwork
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good practical and fabrication skills
- Experience using a range of workshop tools and equipment
- A willingness to learn and develop additional engineering skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work on your own initiative
- A flexible approach and willingness to work overtime when required
This role would suit an Improver, Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Worker, Fabricator, Sheet Metal Assembler or Junior Fabricator looking for the next step in their career.
