Job Overview
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated IMT Doctor (Clinical Fellow level) to join our team at Withybush General Hospital. This role is based within our Geriatric Medicine team and is ideal for someone looking to develop their clinical skills and progress within geriatric medical care.
This is a fantastic chance to work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team, gain exposure to a broad range of medical presentations, and contribute meaningfully to patient care in a busy district general hospital.
Main duties of the job
As an IMT Doctor in Geriatric Medicine at Withybush General Hospital, you will be expected to:
- Participate in the delivery of medical services to both the hospital and designated community, working closely with your Consultant to support the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness.
- Supervise all admissions to the wards, ensuring timely clinical investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical notes and discharge summaries for all patients under your care.
- Undertake additional duties in exceptional circumstances, such as emergencies or unforeseen events, as required.
- Actively participate in regular audit meetings and postgraduate teaching sessions led by the relevant Consultants, contributing to continuous professional development and service improvement.

- Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
- 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
- Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
