Commercial Lawyer (12‑Month FTC)
Central London | Hybrid (1-2 days in office)
Start: ASAP | Duration: 12 months
We are seeking a bright, motivated, and articulate Commercial Lawyer to join a high-performing in-house Legal Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The role offers a broad and varied remit and would suit someone who has trained or practiced as a corporate lawyer and transitioned into a strongly commercial in-house position, with robust contract drafting skills forming the core of their day-to-day work.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Contracts
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and procurement contracts, including:
- IT/SaaS agreements
- Third-party funders
- Private medical insurers
- Clinical and non-clinical suppliers
- Sponsorship agreements, sub-contracts, and licenses
- Work closely with litigation colleagues to advise on commercial disputes
- Act as a trusted, pragmatic legal adviser to stakeholders across the business

Corporate Transactions & Strategic Projects
- Support M&A, disposals, joint ventures, financing arrangements, and other strategic initiatives
- Assist with the legal integration of new subsidiaries
- Advise on group restructurings and intragroup arrangements

About You
- Qualified lawyer with 2–5 years’ PQE (slightly more senior candidates with strong in-house experience will be considered)
- Background in corporate and/or commercial law, with strong commercial contracts experience
- Exposure to M&A and/or private equity-backed environments is highly desirable
- In-house experience and healthcare sector exposure are advantageous but not essential
- Strong academic background
