Derivatives Lawyer
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced derivatives lawyer to advise directly on the legal and regulatory issues shaping a growing OTC derivatives business, including emerging areas such as crypto.
About the Role
Our client is a growing global markets business with a strong presence across exchange-traded and OTC markets, underpinned by a technology-led, multi-asset platform. This role sits within the legal team supporting a specialist solutions division as it develops its OTC derivatives offering.
Taking the lead on the more structured OTC work you will provide supervision to less experienced members of the team and take ownership of the direction of the ISDA positions doing the more complex work stemming from documentation such as defaults and complex margin set ups. As well as reviewing new product types and structures across asset classes, drafting and negotiating ISDA, CSA, GMRA and GMSLA documentation, advising the desk on contractual rights, and monitoring UK and international regulatory developments. Joining the team in a senior role, there will be the opportunity to take on management responsibility quickly for the right person.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
