Operating within a highly regulated sector, the business supports large-scale clients through advanced digital platforms and technology-driven services. With a strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, the organisation offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while developing valuable in-house legal expertise. You will need to be able to commute to the Bristol office 1 day per week.

Your New Role

As an In-House Paralegal, you will provide legal and commercial support across a wide range of business activities, with a particular focus on commercial contracts and contract life cycle management.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing, negotiating, and managing a variety of commercial agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), software licence agreements, service agreements, Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
  • Assisting with the drafting and amendment of variation agreements, change control documents, and contractual schedules.
  • Providing practical and commercially focused guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual risks and obligations.
  • Supporting technology-related legal matters, including intellectual property and data protection issues.
  • Maintaining and enhancing contract templates, legal playbooks, and internal legal processes.
  • Supporting contract execution processes and liaising with senior stakeholders when required.
  • Managing contract records and supporting contract lifecycle management activities.
  • Assisting with legal and regulatory compliance initiatives, including policy development and implementation.
  • Working with external legal advisers where necessary.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and communicating relevant updates to the wider business.
  • Supporting the management of intellectual property assets, including trademarks.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant experience working as a Paralegal with a strong understanding of commercial contracts.
  • Proven experience independently reviewing, executing, and managing a range of commercial agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of contract structures, including framework agreements and MSAs.
  • The ability to identify commercial and legal risks and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to build effective relationships across business functions.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Experience supporting contract lifecycle management processes and maintaining accurate contract records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, legal research, and electronic signature platforms.

The following experience would be advantageous:

  • Previous in-house legal experience within a technology business.
  • Experience advising technology-focused clients in private practice.
  • Exposure to US legal frameworks or international commercial contracts.
  • Knowledge of the pensions or financial services sector.
