We are currently seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our dedicated team. If you are an experienced commercial lawyer (at least 5 years PQE), this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The Role
As a Legal Counsel, you will be covering corporate commercial work within our UK and Irish business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out the review, negotiation and drafting of commercial terms/contracts, and legal agreements for business projects (including for example framework agreements, procurement tenders, or variations thereof); the role will have its own matter caseload;
- Support the businesses in commercial negotiations in respect of a wide range of customer and supplier contracts;
- Advise on arising issues, risks and commercial queries, with guidance from appropriate functions (insurance and finance) where required;
- Deliver training programmes to the business on legal and contractual risks and issues related to, amongst other things, commercial terms / contracts;
- Update commercial terms / precedents and templates, whilst contributing to processes and improved ways of working;
- Acting as a first point of contact for legal queries for the business; and
- Work with the regional general counsel and / or external counsel on any arising issues.
Required Experience:
- Technical legal knowledge and commercial understanding of the niches that Rentokil operates within. Our work is extremely varied and we have a diverse customer portfolio.
- Some knowledge of / familiarity with concepts around construction project insurance, collateral warranties, performance bonds and guarantees and the management of claims.
- A good understanding of general corporate / commercial contracts/legal principles.

Required Competencies:
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills to manage internal stakeholder groups and external client relationships.
- Excellent written/verbal and influencing skills: a strong ability to affect the behaviour of multiple stakeholders so that a good legal and fiscal position is maintained for the company.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, to identify and resolve legal issues, comfortable working with less-than-perfect information and recommending courses of action despite uncertainty.
- Able to work well as a team member and build rapport and trust with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in an organisation that has a high appetite for risk and operates a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- AI proficient.
- Exposure to public procurement.
- Willing to learn about our business and contribute to more complex legal matters.
- Able to communicate complex and technical legal concepts to a non-technical audience.
Formal Education, Qualifications or Training
Essential:
- A qualified lawyer in England & Wales, or any relevant jurisdiction with at least five (5) years PQE.
- Excellent experience and knowledge of general corporate / commercial contracting principles. Legal knowledge and commercial understanding of the industries we work within and public procurement coupled with good commercial legal skills.
