Job Description
Inbound Sales Representative
Help Accounting Practices Work Smarter
Are you a driven sales professional who enjoys turning opportunities into lasting customer relationships? Do you thrive on building pipelines, delivering compelling demonstrations, and uncovering new business opportunities?
We're looking for a Inbound Sales Executive to join our growing Practice Solutions team. You'll play a key role in helping accounting firms transform the way they work by introducing them to our specialist suite of solutions, including GoProposal, Futrli, and AutoEntry.
Working with a mix of marketing-generated leads, cross-sell opportunities, inbound enquiries, and self-generated prospects, you'll own the sales journey from initial discovery through to close. You'll also be instrumental in expanding our footprint within non-Sage practices, including firms currently using competitor platforms such as Xero.
This is a hybrid role with three days per week based in our Winnersh office.
Key Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
As an Inbound Sales representative, you'll be responsible for identifying, engaging and converting new business opportunities while helping existing customers realise even greater value from our solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) and cross-sell opportunities generated by our account management teams.
- Responding to inbound enquiries from prospective and existing customers.
- Delivering engaging sales presentations and product demonstrations that showcase the value of our solutions.
- Generating new business through proactive prospecting activities including cold calling, networking, LinkedIn and Sales Navigator.
- Qualifying and progressing leads through the sales funnel from MQL to Sales Qualified Opportunity (SQO), ensuring agreed service levels are met.
- Building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline to achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
- Identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities across the wider Sage portfolio to maximise customer lifetime value.
- Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers across accounting practices.
- Understanding customer challenges and recommending solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends, market developments and competitor activity to position our solutions effectively.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting activity through Salesforce and other internal reporting tools.
- Collaborating closely with Marketing, Product and Leadership teams to align sales initiatives and drive business growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
