Inbound Sales Team Lead – UK + New Markets

About the team

The UK Inbound Sales team is the first point of contact for merchants who've already shown interest in SumUp and that warm intent is a real advantage. The team works quickly to qualify, engage, and convert leads into long-term customers by matching the right SumUp solutions to each merchant's needs. This is a pivotal moment for the team: we're scaling into new European markets, and this role sits right at the centre of that growth. As Team Lead, you'll shape how we sell, how we coach, and how we scale, with direct influence over team performance, hiring, and the way we build out new markets from the ground up.

What you'll do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives, running regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and team sessions to build a high-performing, motivated sales culture
  • Track and analyse key sales metrics, including lead-to-SQL and SQL-to-deal conversion rates, using CRM data to spot trends and implement targeted improvements
  • Build and refine sales processes, playbooks, and best practices that improve efficiency and closing rates across the team
  • Act as the bridge between sales, marketing, and other internal teams, feeding back on lead quality and helping align efforts across the business
  • Support the hiring and onboarding of new Account Executives as we scale into new markets, with a goal of growing the team to six

You'll be great for this role if…

  • Experience in a closing sales role, with a strong track record of hitting and exceeding targets
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, motivate, and develop others — whether formally or informally
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with CRM tools (such as Salesforce) to make data-informed decisions
  • Ability to balance hands-on selling with team management in a fast-moving environment
  • Resilience and adaptability when navigating change, new markets, or shifting priorities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
