Exciting Opportunity: Band 6 Incident Response Desk Dispatch Lead
An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for six new positions as a Band 6 Incident Response Desk Dispatch Lead operating out of Broughton.
About the Role
The successful candidates will be responsible for the deployment of clinical, specialist operational assets and commanders to respond to incidents that require multiple resources to be deployed right up to critical and Major Incidents. You will be working as part of a team that includes Advanced Practitioners, HEMS trained clinicians as well as dispatchers.
Using the JESIP principles you will liaise with external emergency and NHS partners, maintaining up to date communications with operational and on scene commanders and clinicians, before cascading that information internally to the ROCC and the Duty Dispatch Leads. This will be a critical task so having dispatch experience and disciplined voice communications is essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
