Many learners progress to university, further study, or employment. Role Description
The Inclusionist is a temporary, on-site role based in Mansfield, supporting learners to fully participate in college life and achieve their educational goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Promoting inclusion in classrooms and around the campus
- Assisting learners with additional needs to access learning activities and resources

The role involves working collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, and external agencies to implement inclusive strategies and individualized support plans. The Inclusionist will help monitor learner progress, contribute to reviews and reports, and encourage independence, confidence, and positive behavior. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, following safeguarding and equality policies, and promoting a respectful, welcoming environment for all learners.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting diverse learners in educational settings, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, mental health needs, or other barriers to learning.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices, equality, diversity and inclusion principles, and safeguarding procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with learners, staff, and external partners.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, including accurate record-keeping and the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while also using initiative and sound judgment when working independently.
- Basic IT skills for using learning platforms, digital resources, and administrative systems.
- Relevant qualification in education, learning support, youth work, social care, or a related field (or equivalent experience); willingness to undertake further training.
- Commitment to promoting learner voice, celebrating diversity, and supporting a positive, inclusive, and safe college environment.
