SEND Inclusion Officer (SEND Caseworker)
We are seeking several SEND Inclusion Officers (SEND Caseworkers) to join our busy and dynamic SENDSARS team. The SENDSARS team is responsible for statutory SEND processes and works in close partnership with families and a wide range of internal and external professionals.
You will play a vital role in coordinating and managing Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and plans for children and young people aged 0–25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
About The Role
This is a challenging, rewarding and highly impactful role. As a SEND Inclusion Officer, you will be:
- The main point of contact for families, schools and partner agencies
- Managing your own caseload of children and young people with SEND
- Coordinating and producing high-quality, person-centred EHC plans
- Providing clear information and advice on statutory SEND processes
- Working closely with education, health and social care colleagues to secure appropriate provision and placements
- Attending and contributing to statutory and multi-agency meetings, including Annual Reviews
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Has excellent organisation skills and a high standard of written English
- Works calmly and professionally in challenging situations
- Can manage large caseloads and work confidently within statutory timescales
- Has experience of working with children and young people with SEND, ideally in an educational setting
- Is committed to inclusive education
- Is confident working in multi-agency environments and open to change
- Knowledge of statutory EHC assessment processes and Annual Reviews is desirable.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
