People and Development Inclusion Officer
Who We Are
As NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we are responsible for the delivery of health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services.
Where We Are
Our Regional Centres are located at Aberdeen, Cardonald, Clydebank, Dundee and South Queensferry. This role is advertised for our Cardonald Regional Centre.
Internship Overview
This internship gives you the chance to gain practical experience in our People and Development Directorate. You will help with projects and support staff to learn and feel included at work. This may include digital skills, training, inclusion and leadership.
What You Will Do
You will work closely with our Organisational Development, Leadership and Learning Manager. You will:
- Help plan and deliver learning and training activities
- Share information about learning opportunities in simple and clear ways
- Check what is working well and what could be improved
You will also work with our Communications Team to create engaging and accessible content. This will help staff understand what support is available and the impact it has.
Inclusion and Accessibility
You will support work to make NHS 24 a more inclusive place to work. This includes:
- Helping to set up and support a Disability Working Group for staff with lived experience and allies
- Listening to staff feedback and helping turn this into improvements
- Supporting respectful and open discussions

You will also help review and improve key processes, including:
- The Disability Inclusion Hub
- The Reasonable Adjustments process
Main Duties and Tasks
You will gain hands-on experience in project support, content creation, inclusion work, and evaluation.
Learning and Resources
- Help create and update learning and inclusion resources
- Support work on the Disability Inclusion Hub
Communications
- Create simple, accessible content (guides, newsletters, online posts)
- Help promote learning opportunities and share success stories
Evaluation
- Collect feedback and basic data
- Help prepare short summaries of what is working well
General Support
- Help organise sessions and manage participant lists
- Respond to staff questions on email or Teams
- Support online sessions and accessibility needs
- Keep records up to date
