Description
As an Inclusive Learning Support practitioner, you will provide targeted support, guidance, and intervention to learners who have identified as experiencing barriers to learning, participation, achievement, or progression. You will work closely with learners, educators, parents/carers, and external agencies to identify individual support needs and develop personalised strategies which enable learners to engage, achieve, and progress successfully.
The role will involve supporting learners who face a wide range of barriers to learning, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), social, emotional and mental health needs, low prior attainment, literacy and numeracy barriers, disadvantaged backgrounds, and other vulnerabilities which may impact their ability to participate fully in education. You will provide both pastoral and educational support, ensuring learners receive timely interventions and high-quality support throughout their programme.
Salary: £27,000
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- To identify learners who may require additional support through enrolment information, initial assessments, referrals, attendance monitoring, learner reviews, and educator feedback.
- To assess individual learner needs, barriers to learning, strengths, and aspirations in order to determine appropriate support and intervention requirements.
- To develop, implement, and maintain individual learner support plans which clearly identify barriers to learning, agreed outcomes, support strategies, and intervention requirements.
- To work collaboratively with learners, educators, parents/carers, and external agencies to agree personalised support strategies which promote engagement, achievement, and independence.
- To provide one-to-one and small group support sessions to learners identified as requiring additional support.
- To support learners with identified additional needs within classroom, workshop, and academy environments.
- To provide in-class support and reasonable adjustments to enable learners to access learning activities and assessments effectively.
- To support learners in developing confidence, resilience, independence, study skills, and positive learning behaviours.
- To liaise with educators and curriculum teams to ensure support strategies and reasonable adjustments are embedded effectively within teaching and learning activities.
- To conduct regular support meetings with learners to evaluate the effectiveness of agreed support arrangements, monitor progress against intended outcomes, and identify any emerging barriers to learning.
- To review support plans and interventions regularly, adapting support strategies in response to learner progress, changing circumstances, and identified needs.
- To maintain accurate learner records, intervention plans, support meeting notes, and review documentation in line with company procedures.
- To contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews and support implementation of agreed actions where applicable.
- To attend and contribute to learner progress reviews, safeguarding meetings, multi-agency meetings, and support planning discussions.
- To liaise with parents, carers, local authorities, external agencies, and support services to coordinate effective support arrangements for learners.
- To identify and make referrals to internal and external support services where additional intervention is required.
- To promote attendance, punctuality, engagement, and positive learner wellbeing.
- To support the promotion of positive behaviour, learner engagement, and respectful relationships by using inclusive strategies which encourage participation, confidence, and readiness to learn.
- To work closely with Designated Safeguarding Leads and report concerns in accordance with safeguarding procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
