Fundraising Trustee

We’re looking for a Fundraising Trustee to help secure sustainable funding for Kainé, leading major bids and strengthening funder relationships to support community cohesion across Leicester.

What difference will you make?

Your contribution will directly support Kainé’s ability to deliver life-changing programmes for thousands of Leicester residents.

By strengthening our fundraising approach, you’ll help

  • Secure stable funding for core programmes
  • Reduce financial uncertainty and risk
  • Improve the quality and consistency of bids
  • Build stronger, longer-term relationships with funders

Your work will enable the organisation to plan confidently, invest in people and programmes, and expand our impact while remaining financially responsible.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with experience writing or overseeing successful grant bids, or managing fundraising initiatives. You should be confident turning community stories and data into compelling funding narratives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are important. Experience working with or alongside finance teams is helpful.

An understanding of community-based, arts or education work is desirable, as is knowledge of the local or national funding landscape. Above all, you should be motivated by social impact and aligned with Kainé’s values.

This trustee will guide the development of major funding bids, maintain oversight of our funding pipeline and help ensure fundraising activity is realistic, well-prioritised and aligned with our strategic goals. You’ll work closely with programme and finance colleagues to ensure bids reflect genuine community need, clear outcomes and robust budgets.

The role is both strategic and practical. You’ll help the Board think long-term about financial sustainability while also supporting timely, high-quality bid submissions. This is a vital role as we navigate an increasingly competitive funding environment and pursue ambitious plans for growth.
