About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a housing professional with the skills and knowledge for our income collection and arrears management service.

You will be joining a high performing team responsible for maximising rent and service charge income collection to Salix Homes. You will be expected to provide a high quality, customer focused income collection service, providing support & advice in order to assist customers to be able to pay their rent & to sustain their tenancies.

The role - What You’ll be doing

  • Proactively communicate with customers regarding their rent accounts using all contact methods (phone, e mail, text, letter, office interviews and home visits).
  • Manage rent arrears cases and negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external organisations to support tenancy sustainment.
  • Providing financial and welfare advice benefits advice to customers.
  • Prepare cases for court where necessary.

What we’re looking for:

  • Has experience of income collection & arrears management.
  • Has a good working knowledge of welfare benefits.
  • Is organised, motivated and committed to improving services.
  • Is performance focused and able to meet challenging targets.
  • Has excellent communication & negotiation skills.
  • Has experience of working with partners, stakeholders and customers with positive outcomes.
  • Can use their initiative, work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Has full clean UK driving licence.
