The Independence, Conflicts and Ethics team

The Independence, Conflicts and Ethics team is a key part of One Firm Risk Management, helping to ensure PwC meets its regulatory, ethical, and operational responsibilities. Independence is more than a policy requirement. It underpins objectivity, maintains public trust, and supports the delivery of services to the highest professional standards. The team provides policy guidance and operational support while monitoring compliance with internal policies and external regulations relating to independence, business conduct, and ethics.

We are looking for a capable and pragmatic Manager to advise Partners and staff on a wide range of complex independence, conflicts, and ethics matters. You will interpret regulations, apply them to real business situations, and contribute to the delivery of strategic projects and initiatives. Working within a geographically dispersed team, including offshore support centres, you will collaborate regularly with colleagues across locations, supported by quarterly team meetings in London.

The team offers a collaborative and supportive environment that values professionalism, teamwork, and continuous development. As a trusted advisor, you will play an important role in protecting the firm's reputation and regulatory standing by delivering practical, solutions-focused guidance. You will also support and develop colleagues, helping to resolve challenging issues while building valuable risk management and stakeholder engagement skills. Comprehensive training and ongoing development opportunities will be provided to support your success.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
