Overview
Our client is a Bristol-based charity supporting people experiencing crisis, trauma and multiple disadvantage to improve their safety, wellbeing and independence.
They are looking for two Independent Domestic Violence Advisors to join their specialist casework team.
You will provide trauma-informed practical and emotional support to people at high risk of domestic abuse and other forms of violence. The role involves coordinating effective multi-agency responses, helping individuals understand their options and supporting them to improve their safety and wellbeing.
This opportunity would suit someone who values person-centred support, works collaboratively and is passionate about helping people experiencing complex circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Provide intensive one-to-one, trauma-informed casework and emotional support.
- Work with individuals to assess risk, identify needs and develop appropriate safety plans.
- Coordinate with relevant agencies and services to provide effective joined-up support.
- Advocate for individuals when accessing housing, healthcare, legal and other support services.
- Maintain accurate case records and contribute to effective case management.
- Work collaboratively as part of a specialist casework team.
- Participate in a monthly evening/night outreach shift, with time off in lieu provided.
- Participate in an occasional evening on-call rota, typically once every few months.

Requirements
- Experience providing person-centred support to people experiencing complex needs, crisis or trauma.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and appropriate support planning.
- Ability to provide practical and emotional support in a sensitive and professional manner.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively with external agencies and multidisciplinary services.
- A collaborative and flexible approach to teamwork.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and maintain accurate records.
- Commitment to providing inclusive, non-judgemental and trauma-informed support.
- An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.
