About The Opportunity

A well-established and growing independent financial planning firm is seeking an experienced Independent Financial Adviser to join its Nottingham-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a client-focused adviser who is passionate about delivering high-quality financial planning and building long-term relationships with clients. The successful candidate will work with both new and existing clients, providing holistic financial advice across investment, retirement, protection, and wealth planning solutions.

The Role

As An Independent Financial Adviser, You Will

  • Provide tailored financial planning and investment advice to private clients.
  • Conduct detailed fact-finds to understand clients’ goals, circumstances, and risk profiles.
  • Analyse financial information and develop suitable planning strategies.
  • Recommend appropriate solutions across investments, pensions, protection, and related financial planning areas.
  • Prepare and present financial recommendations and suitability reports.
  • Carry out regular client reviews and maintain ongoing relationships.
  • Generate new business opportunities through referrals, networking, and professional introducer relationships.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate client records.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, legislation, and market trends.
  • Ensure all advice and client interactions meet FCA and Consumer Duty requirements.
  • Contribute positively to team performance and support the wider business where required.

About You

  • The ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • A professional, ethical, and client-centric approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

Essential

  • Level 4 Diploma qualified (or equivalent financial services qualification).
  • Current Statement of Professional Standing (SPS).
  • Good understanding of FCA regulations and Consumer Duty requirements.
  • Experience providing regulated financial advice.
  • Strong report-writing and client presentation skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Strong track record of business development and relationship management.
  • Experience advising high-net-worth and affluent clients.
  • Knowledge of the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR).
  • Previous experience within an independent financial planning environment.
