Job Title: Independent Financial Advisor

Location: Moray/Inverness/Aberdeen

Basic Salary: Up to £65,000

Hours: Flexible as required

Swarm recruitment are delighted to be supporting their client with recruiting for an Independent Financial Adviser. They are a well-established, independent financial planning business with a strong reputation for delivering tailored advice and building long-term relationships with clients. Advisers are empowered to provide holistic, client-first financial planning across pensions, investments, protection, retirement and estate planning, with a genuine focus on helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals. The business values professionalism, integrity and collaboration, offering an environment where advisers can thrive while delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.

The successful candidate will inherit an established portfolio of clients, delivering ongoing advice and proactive servicing to ensure they continue to receive the exceptional standard of care that is central to the business. You will build and nurture long-term relationships with business owners, entrepreneurs and families, helping them define their financial objectives and develop tailored financial plans that evolve with their changing needs.

Salary & Benefits:

  • £40,000 - £65,000 basic salary, depending on experience
  • Established client bank
  • 21 days annual leave plus 9 bank holidays
  • Christmas Closure (not taken from AL allowance)

Working Hours & location:

  • Working hours as required
  • Hybrid - flexible as required
  • Office location available for working and/or client meetings

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Adviser within a financial planning environment, with at least five years' experience in a technical or advisory role.
  • Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4) as a minimum, with Chartered Financial Planner status or progress towards Chartered desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge across all areas of financial planning, including investments, retirement, tax and estate planning.
  • A client-focused approach with excellent relationship-building, communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to explain complex financial matters in a clear, straightforward and engaging way.
  • Sound judgement, professionalism and a strong commitment to ethical advice and regulatory compliance.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial information and develop appropriate planning solutions.
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial planning, client management and cashflow modelling systems.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding client experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships by delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • Manage an established portfolio of clients, providing ongoing financial planning reviews and advice in line with the firm's service proposition.
  • Understand clients' financial objectives, circumstances and aspirations through comprehensive fact-finding and regular reviews.
  • Deliver holistic financial planning advice across investments, retirement, cashflow, tax and estate planning.
  • Develop clear, personalised and compliant financial plans that support clients' long-term goals.
  • Explain complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable way, enabling clients to make informed decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with paraplanners, administrators and colleagues to ensure seamless client service and timely delivery of advice.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure all advice meets FCA and internal compliance standards.
  • Keep technical knowledge and professional qualifications up to date through ongoing learning and CPD.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of client service, processes and the overall client proposition.
