We are particularly interested in those with a strong background in completing BAAF Form F assessments of prospective foster carers and who are confident working to high standards and within agreed timescales.
Role Description
Key Responsibilities
- Complete thorough BAAF Form F assessments of prospective foster carers
- Produce high-quality, well-structured assessment reports
- Present reports confidently to our Independent Fostering Panel
- Work independently, with flexibility around schedule and location

Requirements
- Recognised Social Work qualification (BA/MA/MSW or equivalent)
- Proven experience in social work, particularly in conducting BAAF Form F assessments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and a child-centred approach
Qualifications
- Registered social worker (e.g., Social Work degree or equivalent) with experience in fostering, children’s services, or related social care settings.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills, including the ability to produce clear, balanced Form F assessments within agreed timescales.
- Excellent interpersonal, interviewing, and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with prospective foster carers, children, and professionals.
- Knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding principles, and relevant legislation, with a commitment to child-centred practice and safe care.
- Ability to work independently, manage a part-time caseload, and maintain professional boundaries while collaborating effectively with agency staff and partners.
- Competence in using digital tools for record-keeping, report preparation, and secure information sharing.
- Enhanced DBS check (or equivalent) and willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and supervision.
- Access to reliable transport to conduct home visits and attend meetings in Warrington and surrounding areas.
