Role Description
The Independent Interim Operations Consultant will work on a contract basis to diagnose operational issues, design improvement initiatives, and lead delivery of change projects for clients. This hybrid role is primarily based in Winchester, with regular on-site client work and some flexibility for working from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing current supply chain and operations performance, conducting data-driven analysis, facilitating workshops with client teams, and developing actionable recommendations. The consultant will support implementation by coordinating stakeholders, tracking progress against project plans, and ensuring benefits are realized and documented. The role also involves preparing clear reports and presentations, contributing to proposals, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout each engagement.

- Strong analytical skills, including quantitative analysis, problem-solving, and the ability to derive insights from complex operational data.
- Consulting experience, with proven capability in structuring projects, managing stakeholders, and delivering measurable improvements in operations.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear written documentation, confident presentation abilities, and effective facilitation of workshops and meetings.
- Operations management expertise, with hands-on experience in supply chain, process improvement, and driving efficiency across people, process, and systems.
- Customer service orientation, with a focus on building trust, managing expectations, and providing responsive, professional support to clients.
- Experience working in or with sectors such as defence, healthcare, consumer goods, pharma, or local government is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work independently as an interim consultant, manage multiple workstreams, and adapt quickly to different organizational cultures.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, APICS) are an advantage.
