We are currently recruiting for an Independent Living Advisor to join our team
We are currently recruiting for an Independent Living Advisor to join our team on a permanent basis, covering Phoenix House in Frome. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting older people to maintain their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Working Hours:
- Working 28 hours per week, over 4 or 5 days, Monday - Friday.
- Flexibility around the working hours will be discussed during the interview.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Independent Living Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality housing management services across our sheltered schemes. Your responsibilities include:
- Building strong relationships with residents.
- Supporting prospective tenants through viewings and the moving-in process.
- Ensuring residents fully understand their tenancy agreements, including their rights and responsibilities.
- Providing advice and guidance on accessing financial support, including housing-related benefits.
- Signposting or referring residents to appropriate services such as assistive technology, property adaptations, or additional support where needed.
- Carrying out scheme inspections.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are met.
- Monitoring contractor performance to maintain high service delivery standards.

Requirements:
- Flexibility to travel across schemes and meetings in the region is essential.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required.
- Mileage expenses are reimbursed at 55p per mile for business travel.
What we are looking for:
- Experience of supporting older people and promoting independent living.
- A strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Good administrative and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
