Independent Living Maintenance Officer

Location: Oxfordshire (travel around 6 of our sites based in Oxfordshire)

Salary: up to £28,000 including £2,000 car allowance

Contract: Full Time | Permanent

This role requires travel between schemes; therefore, a valid driving licence and use of a vehicle are essential.

Are you a practical, customer-focused individual with experience carrying out minor maintenance and repairs? Do you enjoy working independently while making a real difference to people's daily lives? We're looking for an Independent Living Maintenance Officer to join our team, helping to maintain safe, welcoming, and well-presented independent living schemes across our communities.

As an Independent Living Maintenance Officer, you'll be responsible for delivering responsive and planned maintenance across a portfolio of independent living schemes. You'll carry out minor repairs, support the upkeep of communal areas, conduct regular site inspections, and help ensure our buildings remain safe, secure, and enjoyable places for customers to live.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance in communal areas and individual properties within agreed service standards.
  • Conduct regular estate inspections and identify repair, maintenance, and health and safety issues.
  • Monitor repair requests and ensure works are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Provide on-site oversight for repairs delivered by the in-house repairs service, acting as the escalation point and primary on-site contact for contractors while overseeing communal repair works.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, gathering feedback and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to maintenance planning and service improvement initiatives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
