Salary: £32,464 per annum
Location: Central London

Are you passionate about creating safe, welcoming communities? We are looking for an Independent Living Housing Officer to join our team at Ada Court. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring building safety, supporting residents, and helping our community thrive.

About the role

As a Service Officer, as you’ll be known internally, you will:

  • Oversee building safety and ensure a secure environment for all residents
  • Manage tenancies, including viewings, settling in new residents, and handling sign-ups
  • Conduct fire risk assessments and report on any communal or individual repair requirements
  • Take part in resident meetings and help resolve light anti-social behaviour issues as they arise
  • Provide a friendly, approachable presence onsite, ensuring residents feel supported and valued

This is a hands-on, on-site role based at Ada Court.

Ada Court, built in 1969, offers a welcoming community environment with 146 studio flats and 65 one-bedroom flats for people aged 55 and over. The scheme also includes four specially adapted flats to support residents with disabilities.

Located on a pleasant residential street in the highly sought-after area of Maida Vale, the scheme benefits from excellent surroundings and strong local amenities.

About you

You are a people person who can build rapport and show empathy, while also being confident and robust in your professional relationships. You’re enthusiastic, energetic, and ready to make a real difference in the community.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
