Cromwell House - Cromwell Road, South Bank, Middlesbrough, TS6 6JE

Residential Alcohol & Opioid Detoxification

Help us deliver safe, compassionate detoxification that changes lives.

Cromwell House is a new residential detoxification service delivered through a partnership between With You and Recovery Connections, providing a safe, supportive environment for people undertaking alcohol and opioid detoxification. We are looking for an experienced Independent Nurse Prescriber to join the team and play a key role in establishing and delivering this innovative service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who wants to combine clinical leadership and high-quality substance use treatment within a residential setting.

Job Description/Person Specification

This is a great role to support work life balance - working Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with no Bank Holiday working, you will provide clinical oversight for residents undertaking planned alcohol and opioid detoxification. You will have robust, supportive management from local With You Clinical Leads and will work closely with our Medicines Management team, Recovery Connections residential staff, community services, pharmacies and other healthcare professionals to ensure each person receives safe, evidence-informed and person-centred care.

You will:

  • Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and contribute to decisions about detoxification suitability and treatment planning.
  • Independently prescribe and clinically manage alcohol and opioid detoxification medication within your scope of practice.
  • Monitor withdrawal symptoms, response to treatment and emerging physical or psychological risks.
  • Review and adjust treatment plans where clinically indicated, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Provide clinical advice and support to the residential team.
  • Ensure medicines are prescribed, administered, monitored and managed safely.
  • Recognise deterioration and make timely decisions regarding escalation to urgent or specialist medical care.
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, community drug and alcohol teams, pharmacies and other healthcare providers.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, safeguarding, risk management and medicines governance.
  • Contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement, incident learning and the ongoing development of Cromwell House.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
