Role: Independent Panel Members
We are recruiting Independent Panel Members for our Midlands Region based in Bromsgrove within the Fostering sector.
Responsibilities
You will be required to prepare for and be present on the Panel meeting. Successful candidates will be responsible, in collaboration with the other Panel members, for making recommendations about applicants’ suitability to foster and the continued approval of existing foster carers. You will demonstrate skills drawing upon your own personal and professional knowledge and experience. You must uphold our policies and procedures to ensure equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice. The suitable candidates must be able to work as a team member to achieve the best outcomes for the children, prioritising their individual needs and safety.

Requirements
- Experience of working with children/young people would be an advantage but optional.
- Representation from other sectors such as care leavers, foster carers, health, and Police is advantageous.
- We value and welcome diversity.
- No formal social work qualifications are necessary but understanding and empathy for the work required are essential.

Compensation
As a Panel Member, you will receive £225 per panel. Our panel takes place on the 3rd Thursday of every month, this may be virtually or held in person, please be aware travel may be expected.
