Optymum SS is recruiting Independent Sales Executives to grow the customer base of Lab Shift Roster, our specialist laboratory rostering application.
We are looking for commercially minded people who can build relationships, demonstrate practical software and turn customer interest into paid subscriptions.
Built by biomedical scientists, Lab Shift Roster helps laboratory managers plan around staff availability, competencies and bench coverage. Its Free option provides an accessible starting point, while Pro and Enterprise plans offer shared planning, approvals, audit history and multi-site management.

Your role
- Identify and approach laboratories, pathology services and laboratory groups.
- Build relationships with laboratory managers, owners and purchasing decision-makers.
- Understand customers’ rostering challenges and explain where LSR could help.
- Arrange and deliver product demonstrations.
- Manage follow-up, address commercial questions and close paid subscriptions.
- Maintain agreed records of prospects and sales activity.
- Share customer feedback to support product development.
Who we are looking for
- Experience in B2B sales, business development or independent sales representation.
- Strong prospecting, communication and follow-up skills.
- Confidence demonstrating software and explaining its value.
- The ability to generate opportunities and work independently.
- Thrives on a commission-only arrangement.
Experience selling laboratory products, diagnostics, healthcare technology or SaaS would be particularly useful. Existing laboratory contacts are an advantage.
40% commission. No earnings cap.
You receive 40% of the qualifying initial subscription sale value actually collected, excluding VAT, discounts and refunds.

- Pro annual subscription: £490 sale = £196 commission.
- Enterprise subscription at the £4,950 starting price = £1,980 commission.
- Five Enterprise sales at that starting price = £9,900 commission.
There is no cap on the total commission you can earn. Every additional qualifying sale adds to your earnings.
These figures illustrate commission calculations, not guaranteed earnings. There is no basic salary. Commission is payable after customer payment is received, subject to the written sales agreement. Renewal commission is agreed separately.
Flexibility and support
You choose your working hours and prospecting methods within agreed commercial and brand guidelines. This opportunity can sit alongside other non-conflicting sales activities.
Optymum SS will provide product familiarisation and support with demonstrations and customer questions. You will be responsible for building your sales pipeline.
