Help Shape the Future of Agriculture

Are you passionate about plant breeding, genetics, and agricultural innovation? Would you like to contribute to the development of commercially successful varieties that meet future market demands?

We are looking for an Assistant Breeder (m/f/d) to support our breeding activities. In this role, you will work closely with the Breeder to plan, execute, and evaluate breeding programs while contributing to the implementation of innovative breeding technologies and methodologies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support the Breeder in optimizing breeding strategies and implementing innovative technologies and breeding methods.
  • Plan, execute, evaluate, and document breeding trials in accordance with breeding objectives and procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret trial results and contribute to breeding decisions and program recommendations.
  • Assist in developing short-term breeding plans and preparing reports to support divisional and corporate decision-making.
  • Coordinate the multiplication and maintenance of basic stock seed in collaboration with Production and Stock Seed teams.
  • Maintain accurate breeding records and support the implementation of new breeding and data management systems.
  • Coordinate breeding activities with technical assistants and crop technicians and provide technical guidance where required.
  • Monitor market developments and contribute to translating market needs into breeding objectives.
  • Act as a key partner to the Breeder and support the continuity of breeding activities when required.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Plant Breeding, Genetics, Crop Science, or a related field; a Master's degree in Plant Breeding is an advantage.
  • Practical knowledge of plant breeding principles, genetics, and horticultural practices.
  • Initial professional experience in plant breeding or agricultural research.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with data management systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent English language skills.
