Index Rebalance Quant Trader | Proprietary Trading Firm | London

Overview

We are working with a leading proprietary trading firm that is expanding its systematic equities trading business and is seeking an Index Rebalance Quant Trader to join its growing team in London.

The firm is investing heavily in the expansion of its trading platform, providing traders with significant risk allocation, institutional-grade infrastructure, and access to extensive quantitative and technology resources. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and managing index rebalance strategies while contributing to the broader growth of the business.

This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial trader to combine alpha generation, live trading, and strategy ownership within a well-resourced proprietary trading environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and deploy systematic index rebalance trading strategies
  • Identify and monetise opportunities arising from benchmark changes, constituent additions/removals, corporate actions, and flow-driven events
  • Generate and evaluate new alpha sources across equities and index-related products
  • Manage live trading, capital deployment, and day-to-day strategy performance
  • Conduct post-trade analysis and continuously refine trading models
  • Collaborate with quantitative researchers, developers, and trading technology teams
  • Support portfolio construction, risk management, and capital allocation processes
  • Contribute to the continued growth and buildout of the trading desk

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
