About the role
The Financial Services sector is undergoing significant transformation driven by regulatory change, digitalisation, and increased complexity across global tax regimes. Indirect tax in particular is becoming more complex due to the expansion of digital reporting and e-invoicing regimes, increased scrutiny from tax authorities, and continued evolution of tax operating models.
These dynamics are driving strong and sustained demand for advisory support spanning technical indirect tax, operating model design, and technology-enabled solutions. There is therefore a clear opportunity to strengthen our market position through a senior Director who can originate and lead this work.
Whist sitting within the FS team this role would provide support across other markets.
What your days will look like
- Operating as a senior market-facing leader responsible for both origination and delivery
- Developing and executing strategies to expand the indirect tax business, leading VAT market initiatives and building a strong industry profile
- Acting as a trusted adviser on VAT and indirect tax for key FS accounts, collaborate across tax and deals teams to identify cross-selling opportunities, and deliver integrated solutions to client challenges.
- Leading complex advisory and transformation engagements by managing complex projects from scoping to delivery with clear governance. The role will also involve developing and scaling delivery capability across the team to ensure sustainable growth and effective execution
- Building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and developing go-to-market propositions aligned to evolving regulatory requirements
- Advising on complex VAT issues, review and sign off technical positions and client communications, and represent the firm at industry events to strengthen brand presence

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
