Everything we do here spins around Plan Zero. So, naturally, the team you’ll be joining plays a gigantic role in making that happen, and having an efficiently functioning Finance team will help us towards this journey.

This role in a nutshell:

This role will be a key member of the Indirect tax team. This is an essential role which will be focused on providing expert indirect tax support for VAT-focused projects, with an emphasis on compliance, process reviews, and internal controls.

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Review and document end-to-end VAT processes from source to return.
  • Analyse and adapt processes to support VAT projects and transitional activities.
  • Identify and implement control improvements to ensure robust compliance.
  • Partner with wider finance and technology project teams to design and implement necessary processes and reporting.
  • Proactively identify necessary actions and take ownership of delivering changes, with support from the Senior Indirect Tax Manager.
  • Assisting the Indirect Tax Senior Manager with projects and support as required.

You’ll be a successful Indirect Tax Manager here at OVO if you…

  • Are ACA/CTA qualified.
  • Possess excellent indirect tax technical knowledge.
  • Are a strong team player, recognising the needs of all stakeholders and ensuring outcomes maximise value and impact across the enterprise.
  • Have the ability to problem solve complex issues, by using your experience and skills.
  • Are diligent with a preference for attention to detail, and be willing to investigate at depth to resolve problems.
  • Have excellent communication skills in order to explain complex tax issues and information to a non-tax audience.
  • Have In-house experience in a consumer facing business.

Ideally you will have:

  • A strong background in indirect tax, with specific expertise in compliance processes and financial controls.
  • The ability to identify 'what needs to happen' and comfortably take ownership of delivery.
  • A collaborative approach, and a team player who is comfortable working with finance teams and wider project teams.
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between tax, the wider finance function and the operational business areas.

We’ll pay you between £70,000 and £80,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!

You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
