We are seeking an Indirect Tax Manager to join our talented and supportive tax team. The successful candidate will support the Indirect Tax Director and play a key role within our Indirect Tax team, providing advisory services to a varied client portfolio.

What does the role include?

The Role Is Varied, And Responsibilities Include

  • Manage a portfolio of more complex clients and working with tax consultants and assistants ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide specialist Indirect Tax advice across a wide range of sectors and industries.
  • Establishing professional and confident working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Deliver Indirect Tax advisory projects in all aspects, including areas such as construction, land & property transactions, cross-border movement of goods and provision of services, sporting, cultural, education and charitable reliefs.
  • Proactively contribute to departmental and firm-wide strategy through targeted business development activities with the aim of identifying opportunities to enhance client service and attract new clients to the firm.

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will:

  • Be CTA or IIT qualified, or equivalent level of Indirect Tax expertise gained through professional experience.
  • Have 1-2 years post-qualification Indirect Tax experience within a professional practice environment or 3-4 years Indirect Tax expertise if qualified by experience.
  • Possess strong VAT advisory experience and technical expertise with proactive approach to CPD.
  • Ideally have experience in managing a portfolio of different clients and in delivering strategic VAT/Indirect Tax advice to a wide range of different businesses.
  • Have client management experience and can ideally demonstrate the ability to manage and coach more junior colleagues.
  • Be client driven, strategically and commercially aware.
  • Computer literate with the ability to use and adapt to different systems and software packages is essential.
  • Possess excellent organisation skills including the ability to set and work to tight deadlines.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
